Harris ANVIS-9 White Phosphor Night Vision Goggles
Cost: $15,500 per unit.
Night vision goggles (N.V.G.’s): These pieces of specialized equipment are crucial for the air unit to conduct low light and night-time search and rescue missions. These goggles allow pilots and T.F.O.’s to be able to fly safely in mountainous and hazardous terrains at night. The air unit needs a minimum of three sets of N.V.G.’s in order to operate effectively but is looking to purchase six sets of N.V.G.’s in order to have extra in case of malfunctions or to cover units that are down for maintenance.
UPDATE: Two of the three sets have been donated and have been purchased! The air unit needs one final $15,500 sum in order to purchase a third set to completely outfit our crew.
Dart Skids High-Access-Steps
Cost: $4,400
Bell 206B High Gear Steps: This is an accessory to the standard Bell 206B High Skids. These are secondary steps or ‘running boards’ for the side skids of Able1. These steps allow for passengers and crew to easily enter and exit the helicopter without risk of injury or damage to the aircraft.
UPDATE: Thanks to a generous donor who recently donated the remaining amount of $4,300 to purchase the High Steps for ABLE1. The steps have been ordered and soon will be installed on the airship! The crew and the entire KCRASU Program are extremely grateful for this donation and the continued support for our Air Unit.
ADS-B Transponder with Garmin GTX 345
Cost: $9,331
Flight Transponders Work by Broadcasting Information About an Aircraft’s GPS Location, Altitude, Ground Speed, and Other Data to Ground Stations and Other Aircraft, Once per Second. Air Traffic Controllers and Properly Equipped Aircraft Can Immediately Receive This Information. This Allows Able1 to Be Tracked Electronically by Both Air Traffic Control and Other Aircraft in the Vicinity in Order to Better Avoid Midair Collisions.
UPDATE: Thanks to several generous donors, we now have an installed ADS-B transponder. Thank you to all of our donors for your continued support. We would not be able to have our sucessful unit without your support.
Walk Behind Snow Blower
Cost: $2,000
A snow blower is an essential piece of equipment needed for our program. We need a snow blower in order to clear our landing pad and approach ramp in order to be able to use ABLE1 in the winter months. Without a snow blower, the large ramp and landing pad will need to be shoveled by hand which will slow down response times during emergencies.
UPDATE: Thanks to a generous donor, we now have a snow blower for the hanger. Thank you to all of our donors for your continued support.

Trakkabeam has agreed to partner with the air unit to test a new camera system. Trakkabeam is offering to sell us this camera (approximate value of $500,000) for $250,000. We are looking for a donor to help us purchase this new and state of the art camera for the generously discounted price.
Allison Gas Turbine Model 250-C20J
Cost: $155,000
Secondary Turbine Engine: A secondary turbine engine allows Able1 to remain airworthy when unexpected mechanical issues arise or when complying with required maintenance schedules. A secondary turbine engine enables the primary engine to be removed and replaced with the secondary engine for large-scale maintenance without grounding the airship. This ensures that Able1 is always ready to respond to the public’s vastly growing needs.
